Washington D.C.–Congressman Troy Downing (MT-02) is an original cosponsor of Congressman Randy Feenstra’s (IA-04) recently introduced Death Tax Repeal Act. This legislation–supported by more than 230 organizations–would permanently repeal the death tax which imposes an unfair and costly tax on the transfer of property, land, and other assets from a deceased family member to heirs of family farms and small businesses.

Today, Congressman Troy Downing (MT-02) introduced the Expanding Access to Capital for Rural Job Creators Act. This legislation would require the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Office of the Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation to report on capital access issues faced by rural small businesses.
