Energy

As your Congressman, I have been working diligently to introduce bills and send letters to support Montana-made energy. I have introduced a bill to allow the Bull Mountains mine to remain open consistent with its mining plan modification and the Crow Revenue Act which would ensure the long-term viability of Signal Peak’s mining operations.
I have also joined Montana’s Congressional delegation in signing letters to the Trump Administration to urge reversals of disastrous Biden-era policies like the EPA’s MATS rule which would provide regulatory relief for Colstrip.
Energy dominance is essential for U.S. national security and must be reliable and affordable for all Americans. The previous Administration waged a war on American-made energy. The Trump Administration and the 119th Congress are determined to change that.
I support an all-of-the-above energy approach, but fossil fuels are an abundant and cost-efficient energy source. Coal-fired power plants provide the largest share of electricity generation in Montana. Reliable and cheap energy means more money in the pockets of hardworking Montanans.
As a former Montana Land Board Commissioner, I supported access for oil and gas exploration. Last Congress, House Republicans passed the Lower Energy Costs Act to prevent a ban on fracking, streamline the permitting process, and lift LNG export restrictions, which Senate Democrats blocked. I am working to bring similar legislation forward to reduce energy costs in the 119th Congress.
