The number one barrier to prosperity for individuals and growing businesses is access to capital, and the best capital to have access to is your own. That’s why I strongly support making the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent to keep more money in the pockets of hardworking Montanans.

As a member of the House Financial Services Committee and Small Business Committee, I’ve worked to expand access to capital for rural small businesses and ensure they have the tools they need to succeed.

I introduced the Federal Insurance Office Elimination Act to cut unnecessary red tape and eliminate duplicative federal bureaucracy. I also introduced the Expanding Access to Capital for Rural Job Creators Act, which requires the SEC’s Office of the Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation to identify and address capital access challenges faced by rural small businesses.

To further support family farms and small business owners, I’ve cosponsored the Death Tax Repeal Act, which would eliminate the burdensome estate tax. The so-called “death tax” unfairly penalizes families by taxing the transfer of property from one generation to the next, jeopardizing the future of Montana’s family farms and small businesses. If our communities are going to thrive, these businesses must be able to grow and stay in the family. I’ll continue to fight for policies that grow our rural economy, protect our family farms, and strengthen Montana’s small businesses.

I began my career in higher education as a research scientist at New York University’s Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences. Education is vital and should be handled by state and local communities. I support efforts to reduce federal overreach in education because parents are best suited to make educational choices for their children.

I have cosponsored bills like the Family Farm and Small Business Exemption Act, which would amend FAFSA to make education more accessible for the sons and daughters of our producers and the Promoting American Patriotism In Our Schools Act which would require the Pledge of Allegiance to be recited every day and the American Flag to be displayed in federally funded elementary and secondary schools. As your Member of Congress, I will work to preserve federal programs Montanans depend on while eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse.

As your Congressman, I have been working diligently to introduce bills and send letters to support Montana-made energy. I have introduced a bill to allow the Bull Mountains mine to remain open consistent with its mining plan modification and the Crow Revenue Act which would ensure the long-term viability of Signal Peak’s mining operations.

I have also joined Montana’s Congressional delegation in signing letters to the Trump Administration to urge reversals of disastrous Biden-era policies like the EPA’s MATS rule which would provide regulatory relief for Colstrip.

Energy dominance is essential for U.S. national security and must be reliable and affordable for all Americans. The previous Administration waged a war on American-made energy. The Trump Administration and the 119th Congress are determined to change that.

I support an all-of-the-above energy approach, but fossil fuels are an abundant and cost-efficient energy source. Coal-fired power plants provide the largest share of electricity generation in Montana. Reliable and cheap energy means more money in the pockets of hardworking Montanans.

As a former Montana Land Board Commissioner, I supported access for oil and gas exploration. Last Congress, House Republicans passed the Lower Energy Costs Act to prevent a ban on fracking, streamline the permitting process, and lift LNG export restrictions, which Senate Democrats blocked. I am working to bring similar legislation forward to reduce energy costs in the 119th Congress.

I strongly support health care policies that empower individuals and ensure access to quality care. The U.S. healthcare system faces many challenges that frustrate patients, including high costs and restricted coverage, particularly in rural communities. Congress must prioritize reforms that simplify health care, provide transparency, and lower costs by promoting competition.

The expanding industry of telemedicine, which provides healthcare services remotely, offers new tools that are useful to those living in rural regions as well as our elderly and veterans. I am also a strong supporter of President Trump’s Executive Order to deliver most-favored-nation prescription drug pricing to American patients.

As your Member of Congress, I will work with my colleagues to protect access to telemedicine and ensure our healthcare system provides transparent and affordable care for patients across Montana.

My experience as a veteran of the United States Air Force with two tours of duty in Afghanistan as a member of a combat search and rescue squadron gives me a clear understanding of the need for high-quality health benefits for our veterans. These programs serve as well-deserved compensation for their sacrifice, courage, and patriotism. Unfortunately, our veterans too often face many challenges, including restricted care options and poor mental health care.

So far, I have cosponsored several bills which, if passed, would directly benefit the military and veteran community. The AMERICANS Act reinstates over 8,400 service members who were wrongfully discharged during the Biden Administration's disastrous COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The Major Richard Star Act would expand financial support for combat-disabled veterans who retired from the military.

The Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act would safeguard the Second Amendment rights of veterans who receive assistance from the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Veterans’ Access Act of 2025 would enhance healthcare services through the VA by expanding community care options for our veterans. As your Member of Congress, I will work to ensure our military and veterans have an advocate in Washington to ensure they receive the support they have earned.
