Downing’s Crow Revenue Act Clears Key Committee Vote With Bipartisan Support
Today, Congressman Troy Downing’s (MT-02) H.R. 725, the Crow Revenue Act, was reported favorably out of the House Natural Resources Committee with bipartisan support, taking a critical step toward becoming law. The bill is now eligible for consideration before the full House of Representatives.
“The Crow Revenue Act is a win-win-win,” said Congressman Downing. “This bill not only unleashes made-in-Montana energy, it increases public land access and provides a revenue stream for the Crow Tribe to support their community. I’m grateful to Chairman Westerman for his support and to Congressman Zinke for his advocacy in this and the previous Congress. I look forward to getting this bill passed to deliver for the Crow Tribe and the Treasure State.”
“Congressman Downing’s Crow Revenue Act will support the wishes of the Crow Tribe of Montana and has their unequivocal support,” said Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee Bruce Westerman (AR-04). “This legislation will continue our work to listen to and support the Crow Tribe’s needs. I’d like to thank Congressman Downing for his work on this bill and I look forward to working with him further to advance it through the legislative process.”
“The Crow Revenue Act is a win for Montana energy, good paying jobs, coal production, and the great Crow Tribe,” said Congressman Zinke (MT-01) “This land exchange benefits all parties involved. It will generate much needed revenue for the Tribe in the years ahead and will drive the economy with new coal and mining opportunities. I applaud Representative Downing for moving this bill another step closer to passage, and I look forward to seeing it cross the finish line.”
