Downing Applauds Authorization of Sentinel Project Funding in NDAA
Today, Congressman Troy Downing (MT-02) released a statement following his vote supporting the passage of S. 1071, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026, which includes the authorization of $3,847,563,000 in funding for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrence Program (Sentinel) for FY26.
“Now more than ever, America is being called upon to deliver peace through strength,” said Congressman Downing. “With this mandate comes no shortage of adversaries who wish our great nation harm. That’s why today, I supported legislation that invests in our national security by authorizing funding for the Sentinel program at Malmstrom Air Force Base. Sentinel is a cornerstone of America’s land based nuclear deterrence and brings highly specialized jobs to Great Falls. I’m proud of this vote and will always put our men and women in uniform first.”
