Downing Announces Winner of Congressional Art Competition
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congressman Troy Downing (MT-02) announced Skyview High School senior Rylie Smith-Saldana as the winner of the Congressional Art Competition for Montana’s Second Congressional District. Her work, “The Best View” will be displayed in the halls of Congress for a full calendar year starting this summer.
“I am incredibly proud of Rylie for her dedication to her craft,” said Congressman Troy Downing. “My office received over 30 submissions for this year’s competition and Rylie’s art clearly stood out. Montana is blessed to have such talented young artists in our state, and I look forward to sharing Rylie’s work with visitors in Washington, D.C.”

Congressman Downing recognized 4 submissions as runner-ups that will be displayed in his Billings and Helena offices for the next year. These submissions include:
“The Plains Bison,” YuYing Zhen, Laurel High School
“Edens Eye,” Adreena Zitnik, Billings Christian School
“Life Goes On,” Joleahann Reyh Parker, Capitol High School
“Roca!,” Kendalee Larson, Skyview High School
