Downing Announces Final Slate of Community Project Funding Requests
Congressman Troy Downing (MT-02) announced the final slate of Community Project Funding (CPF) Requests he has submitted for Central and Eastern Montana. Downing has submitted 11 total CPF requests for consideration in the fiscal year (FY) 2026 appropriations process.
"Montanans, not Washington bureaucrats, know best when it comes to addressing the needs of our communities,” said Congressman Downing. “These funding requests hold the promise to update infrastructure, keep our streets safe, and drive economic development. If there’s money to be spent in Montana’s Second District, I’ll fight for every cent to deliver for my constituents.”

This announcement represents the first step in securing funding for the projects. Each request is subject to the approval of the House Appropriations Committee. If included in FY26 legislative text, the requests will be voted on by the full House before proceeding to the Senate where the bill awaits further scrutiny. Should any submitted funding requests remain following a Senate vote, they will be sent to the President’s desk and authorized.
